Don’t Forget to Fertilize

I am a born and raised Florida girl.  I like to visit colder climates, play in the snow, sit by a warm crackling fire with a cup of joe in my hand, but, I am always excited to return to the warm sunny days that living in Florida provide.  Although, as I type this, it is pretty frigid outside.  However, before you know it, summer will be in full swing!  Many will indulge with countless trips to the beach, lake or river.  I can already hear the laughter and music from the backyard Bar B-Q's.  I can smell the fresh cut grass that comes with all the yard work.  Then, there is yard work, and did I mention yard work?  Sometimes, it seems, just as fast as you cut the grass, it's already growing again!  It's never ending! Such sayings come to mind as, "The grass is always greener in China, cause they paint it".  In 1978, one of my favorite comedians/ actresses, Carol Burnett, starred in a film entitled "The Grass is Always Greener...over the septic tank."  Then one of my favorite quotes, "If the Grass is Greener on the other side of the fence, then just fertilize your own".  I don't care who you are, everyone in life is tempted to look at what another has, and make a judgement call.  We ask things like, "why don't I have that? Or, they don't deserve that".   We do this in every arena of life: marriage, work, kids, finances, church, material possessions, education, talent, and the list goes on.  Today I want to challenge you.  Instead of looking at what another has, a better use of your time would be spent thinking how you can better what you have or where you are.  Spend time praying over yourself and your future!  Next thing you know, your grass is gonna be a beautiful bright green and you will have the peace of mind, knowing that it's not painted or growing over a septic tank, but rather, it's the fruit of hard work and dedication!  Achieve your goals, live your dreams, by using fertilizer!!!!  Love you all, make it a great day!
